It’s hard to outsource out of the country because it is hard to explain our vision for what we want and deal with the time lag. I paid a designer about $700 to create something for me. I was assured the platform they were designing with would work with all the site parameters I gave them. I got my design. They got my money. It wasn’t even remotely compatible with what I needed. And they were the so called “Experts” on that platform. From that point on I decided the time I invested learning how to install and update CMS on my own was well worth the effort. I installed about half a dozen on a test site. I tested the admin tools. I chose Joomla over Drupal at the time… mostly becaue Drupal was in a state of flux. I have since moved most of my work to Wordpress. I find a designer and pay them to make the template then I do the rest. I can tell you that I have had some sucess outsourcing task work to India… well to people in india … and the rates have been reasonable. And they all take Paypal!
